Arizona Lemon Law Information
The Arizona lemon law, Arizona Revised Statutes §§ 44-1261 to 1267,
provides comprehensive protection for consumers who purchase or lease
defective cars. Under the Arizona lemon law, a car is presumed a lemon
if the same nonconformity has been subject to repair four or more times
or the car is out of service by reason of repair for a cumulative total
of thirty or more calendar days during the first 24 months or 24,000
miles, whichever is shorter. The Arizona lemon law covers used cars,
under certain circumstances, as well as new cars. In addition to cars,
the Arizona lemon law covers light duty trucks and motor home chassis’s.
If your car qualifies under the Arizona lemon law you may be entitled to
a replacement car, a refund of your purchase price, or a substantial
cash settlement. Our Arizona lemon law attorney will evaluate your
situation free of charge and advise you on whether you may qualify for
relief under the Arizona lemon law. If you do not meet the requirements
of the Arizona lemon law, you may still be entitled to relief under a
federal lemon law called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
The federal lemon law was passed by Congress in 1975 and applies to all
goods, including cars, which come with a written warranty and cost more
than $25 dollars. Under this federal lemon law, the warrantor is
required to repair your car within a reasonable time. This can be as few
as two or three repair attempts. If your car is deemed a lemon under the
federal lemon law, you may be entitled to a refund, a replacement car,
or a substantial cash payment depending upon the written warranty you
were provided with when you purchased your lemon car.
Please contact our Arizona lemon law attorney if you believe that your
car may be a lemon. Our Arizona lemon law attorney will provide you with
free advice regarding your potential lemon law claims, and if you have a
claim, the manufacturer will be responsible for the costs and attorney
fees involved in bringing your lemon law claim.
